Job Title: Part-Time Independent Contractor - Asbestos Training and Reinspection Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a part-time, independent contractor specializing in asbestos training and reinspection.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting asbestos awareness sessions for school district personnel and performing reinspections to ensure compliance with asbestos regulations.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct asbestos awareness sessions for school district staff members, including administrators, maintenance personnel, and custodians. 2. Develop training materials and presentations to effectively educate participants on asbestos regulations, safety procedures, and best practices for dealing with asbestos-containing materials. 3. Provide guidance and support to school district personnel regarding asbestos management plans, inspections, and record-keeping requirements. 4. Conduct asbestos reinspections at school facilities to assess the condition of asbestos-containing materials, identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. 5. Prepare detailed reports documenting findings from training sessions and reinspections, including recommendations for corrective actions as needed. 6. Stay current on changes to asbestos regulations and industry best practices to ensure training materials and procedures remain up-to-date.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. Previous experience conducting asbestos training sessions and reinspections in educational or similar facilities. 2. Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to asbestos, including EPA and OSHA requirements. 3. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences. 4. Attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough inspections and assessments of school facilities related to asbestos-containing materials. 5. Certification or licensure in asbestos inspection and management is required. SHESC will get the right person trained. 6. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to various school district locations within the designated region.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a part-time, independent contractor position with flexible hours based on project needs and availability. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
