Summary: The City of Hays Public Works Department is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Stormwater Superintendent. This leadership role is critical for overseeing the City's stormwater management program, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing departmental operations, and leading a team dedicated to protecting our community's water resources.
Responsibilities:

Program Oversight: Oversees the City's Stormwater Management Program and its Stormwater Discharge Permit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Regulation Enforcement: Leads the enforcement of the City's stormwater pollution prevention regulations.

Reporting & Budget Management: Prepares an annual report and maintains the Stormwater Division's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Staff & Operations Management: Manages the staff and general operations of the Stormwater Division, fostering a productive and effective team.
Requirements:

Education/Experience: A college degree or equivalent training and experience in a related field.

Driver's License: Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability for positive interactions with contractors, designers, regulatory agencies, and the general public.

Prior Experience (Strongly Preferred): Prior experience with erosion and sediment control, pollution prevention, or watershed management is strongly preferred.
Compensation:

Starting Pay Range: $68,856 - $82,289 annually.
